Uganda joins the rest of the world today to commemorate the World Heart Day. The day is marked every 29th September to raise awareness among people about heart diseases and their dangers.
The Ministry of Health is championing the day running under the theme “Power your Life.”
Ugandans have been urged to live health lifestyles to avoid heart disease among other non-communicable diseases.
In Uganda, common cardiovascular diseases include stroke, high blood pressure (Hypertension) and rheumatic heart disease.
