Since food is the most common commodity of trade and item on which households spend more money, Uganda’s inflation is largely determined by food prices. In short, the quantity and quality of food a family can either produce or consume defines its state of livelihood.

In our series, ‘What Uganda Can Be’ tonight, we explore the potential for this country to produce sufficient staple foods, specifically cereals and other grains, both for affordable local consumption and also for export to the region and beyond.
