Teachers in Uganda are pushing for World Teachers’ Day, marked annually on 5th October, to be considered as a public holiday.
The National Chairperson Uganda National Teachers Union Margaret Rwabushaija has revealed to Urban TV that she has spoken to President Yoweri Museveni on the matter and they are now waiting for his response.
