SICKLE CELL CLINICS FOR UGANDA Gov’t to establish Sickle Cell clinics across the country

Uganda is set to establish Sickle Cell clinics in different health facilities throughout the country in an effort to reduce the disease’s prevalence. The clinics will carry out newborn screenings and hemococo vaccination of newly born children.

 

According to the Director General of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Anthony Mbonye, the biggest  burden is that most people only go for the screenings when it is already too late,  hence the new project  will help to reduce the Sickle Cell prevalence. We have more.
