Electricity consumers are set to pay shs.125 less for power consumed for the first quarter of financial year 2016/17 which runs from July to September.

The Electricity Regulatory Authority corporate affairs manager Julius Wandera attributes the new tariffs on a slight increment in power generated from Nalubaale plant.

The regulator is optimistic the rates could drop further in the second quarter of the financial year if the shilling and generation of power remain stable.
