The Police Disciplinary Court has banned the cameras during the trial of the police officers accused of assaulting Kiiza Besigye’s supporters.

According to SSP Denis Odongpiny, the suspects earlier filed a request to have the case heard without the press arguing that the exposure puts their lives at risk.

Meanwhile, the second prosecution witness Ivan Ndyabahika, a police officer working with the directorate of ICT has also pinned the eight suspects for the beatings. Ndyabahika has dismissed claims that video clips presented earlier to court are not authentic.
