Makerere non-teaching staff have called off their strike following an impromptu meeting with President Yoweri Museveni at state house, on Tuesday evening.
The chairman of the non-teaching staff, Bombeka Batalingaya says the president has promised to pay their salary arrears in the next financial year.
Non-teaching staff in all public universities have been striking for over two-weeks over delayed salaries amounting to Sh28 billion and pay rise, causing universities to be closed.
