Israel prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu who will make a one day visit to Uganda today is expected to land at 1pm at Entebbe airport accompanied by his wife Sarah . According to the visit schedule, he will be received by president Museveni and thereafter a 19-gun salute will commence followed by Netanyahu inspects a Guard of Honour.
Prime minister Netanyahu will then attend a brief ceremony of the 40th anniversary of the Entebbe Operation in remembrance of Israel Commandos’ raid to rescue close to 100 hostages on 4 July 1976.
As a gesture of this commemoration, a plaque will be unveiled for the renovation of Mulago hospital Trauma Centre.
In the hours to follow, Netanyahu together with regional leaders will hold a counter terrorism conference at state house Entebbe before he flies to Kenya.
