Ndejje University’s team of four athletes, fresh from winning 11 medals at the just concluded 8th edition of the All Africa University games in South Africa, have been welcomed back this morning at their Luwero campus.
The track and field team presented their seven gold medals, three silvers and a team bronze to the University Vice Chancellor, Professor Eriabu Lugujjo, and Sports tutor, Paul Mark Kayongo.
Team Captain Annet Chebet won three gold medals in both 10,000 and 3000 meters steeplechase, while Dorcus Ajok scooped two gold medals in both 1500 and 800 meters.
The only man on the team, Sadic Bahati, won two gold medals in both 5000 and 10000 meters, as Prim Twikirize rounded up the team performance with three silvers in 5,000, 10,000 and 3000 meters steeplechase.
Ndejje University emerged third behind South Africa and Ghana who finished first and second respectively.
A total of 35 universities took part in the week-long event.
