The Uganda parliament health committee is to revisit the national health insurance bill as a strategy to raise funds to fill the 8% gap allocation gap.

African experts in reproductive health financing have urged the committee to push for a health insurance policy that will see Ugandans contribute directly to support in health service delivery as it is in several other African countries.

Sections of people in formal employment including civil servants have always protested against having a national health insurance scheme noting that this will increase tax burden.
