- Archbishop Cyprian Kizito equates abortion bill to murder
- Over 290,000 abortions reported carried out in Uganda annually
Members of the inter-religious council have warned the parliament to desist enacting the pro-abortion bill.
During a prayer breakfast meeting with the 10th parliament earlier today, the archbishop of Kampala archdiocese Cyprian Kizito Lwanga has cautioned the legislators against discussing the abortion bill which according to him is “inhumane”, a “sin” and another form of murder.
It is estimated that over 290,000 abortions are carried out annually in Uganda, with 25% of these said to often go wrong due to unsafe abortion measures.
