- Health Ministry seeks lasting solutions to malaria
- Mosquito nets not effective in malaria fight – survey
- Indoor residential spraying preferred but is more expensive
The Ministry of Health is seeking lasting solutions to malaria prevalence in the country.
This is after a recent study presented at an infectious disease research collaboration symposium at the Kampala Serena Hotel on Monday indicating a mild difference before and after the most recent distributions of treated mosquito nets in select parts of the country.
The ministry distributed 21 million nets (worth sh320b) to about 34 million people three years ago. Malaria consultants say currently, indoor residential spraying gives the best results but is a lot more expensive.
