Seven people have been shot dead and scores injured by a soldier inside Makindye military barracks.
Army spokesperson, Colonel Paddy Ankunda confirmed the shooting in a tweet saying a military police officer, Sgt Isaac Obua opened fire and shot a number of children and women civilians in the barracks most of whom were his relatives.
The PRO of Makindye barracks Capt. Edward Birungi says the facility has been cordoned off as investigations go on.
Sgt. Obua was also shot dead in a fire exchange.
