As the rest of the country prepared to watch the long-awaited premiere of “Dance Off Uganda” on Urban TV last Sunday evening, Eastern Uganda had already turned on the floss in Mbale as on Saturday, they had taken part in auditions to see which two crews would represent the region when the show gets to boot camp stage.
By 7.00am, crowds were already trickling in to witness the 8am-scheduled auditions at Club (O)asis. By the end of the day, we had registered the biggest crowd yet on the “Road to Dace Off”! Great appreciation we have for the people of Mbale; from Urban TV to you, thank you for loving us.
12 crews auditioned, along with a solo dancer. 2 crews are set to be selected among these to represent the region, with viewers having the ability to contribute to their favorite crews’ success by voting them in.
To vote your favorite crew to advance, send a text message with “Dance Off (Space) Name of Crew” and send that to 8338. Voting closes Friday 27th April, 2018 at midnight.
The Road to Dance Off concludes this weekend in Kampala with crews from the Central region auditioning for the chance to winners of some of that UGX 50,000,000. Unlike the other regions that will have 2 crews each advance to the boot camp, Kampala, a local hub for dance talent, will have 4 crews advance, hence higher stakes.
The Kampala auditions will happen for 2 days; Saturday 28th & Sunday 29th April, 2018, at Club Ambiance.
As you prepare your crews for that, below are some images from what transpired in Mbale;
