- Sensitization meeting part of President Museveni’s Hakuna Mchezo era
- The fight against corruption has been taken to the city local leaders.
The State Minister for Ethics and Integrity Fr Simon Lokodo has embarked on empowering and sensitizing councillors, town clerks and mayors of Makindye and Kawempe Division with anti- corruption laws and dangers of engaging in corruption.
This sensitization meeting is part of fulfilling President Yoweri Museveni’s Hakuna Mchezo initiative Swahili for a tenure for no jokes which is hoped to lead Uganda to a middle income status by 2020.
Fr. Lokodo says corruption remains a major hindrance to the country’s economic development.
He made the remarks earlier today during a meeting held at the Auditor General’s office in Kampala.
