- President Yoweri Museveni endorses Kasese split into four districts
- New districts are Bwera, Kasese, Katwe and Hima
- Split comes after 2010 request to president by Kasese NRM cadres
President Yoweri Museveni has granted a 2010 request by the Kasese National Resistance Movement (NRM) cadres to sub-divide the district into four.
The President announced this at a meeting with NRM cadres held at State House on Wednesday.
The chairperson of the NRM caucus in the district council has confirmed that new districts are Bwera, Kasese, Katwe and Hima. The boundaries will run from the mountains to the low lands to enable the communities access resources in the highlands and the low lands.
