Police have impounded over 50 vehicles on the Mbale Tororo – Lwakaka road and in Bududa in the operation Fika Salama, a campaign promoting road safety.
The impounded including government-owned vehicles have been held over various offences including drink-driving, expired licenses and driving permits and vehicles under dangerous mechanical condition.
The Mbale District Traffic Officer ASP Beatrice Apolot has told Urban TV that the operation will go on until they register zero accidents.
