- Farmers to receive information on best practices on their phones
- Government makes move to boost production in farming sector
- New system to help farmers track appropriate planting seasons
The Ministry of Agriculture and development partners have launched a new system to help farmers access relevant information on how to plan for planting seasons and track the ever changing weather patterns.
Farmers across the country will receive the best farming information on their phones using the Uganda call-in system 1-6-1, at a cost of Sh150. [one hundred and fifty shillings.]
The development comes after government admitted that information circulation to farmers across the country has been inefficient and costly.
