The 10th parliament has been cautioned about unwanted pregnancies which were almost a crisis in the 9th parliament.

The designated Minister of State for Health Sarah Opendi sounded the caution during the orientation of the newly sworn-in legislators on the demographic dividend, family planning, maternal health and gender based violence that impact negatively on maternal health.

Opendi says male MPs in the 9th parliament impregnated several women yet they were not able to take care of both mothers and the children. She has called on men to champion family planning.
