Vulnerable and young mothers across the country are to benefit from livelihood fund projects set to kickoff in the second quarter of the financial year 2016/17.
The projects worth Sh53 billion are aimed at empowering less priviledged mothers with skills to earn a living.
According to the State Minister for Gender and Culture Peace Mutuuzo, the women are currently being registered and will be trained in entrepreneurship, skills development and value addition.
This is part of government’s move to curb the number of children flooding streets after their fathers dump them in the hands of the usually young and helpless mothers.
