- I did my best but every day is not the same – Kiprotich
- Kiprotich finished in the 14th position and Solomon Mutai, 8th
Stephen Kiprotich blames harsh and wet weather for his poor finish in the men’s marathon at the Rio Olympics on Sunday.
The defending champion finished in the 14th position with the best placed Ugandan, Solomon Mutai in the 8th while Jackson Kiprop finished 80th out of one hundred and fifty five runners.
Kiprotich says he had a stitch as early as the 7th kilometer but fought on and did his best to finish the 20 kilometer race.
