CRICKET CRANES SET FOR QATAR, INDIA TOURS

The Uganda Cricket Cranes have intensified preparations ahead of the 28th April-5th May, 2018-scheduled ICC World Cricket League Division Four by setting up two tours; Qatar & India.
The team, who were today, Tuesday 6th February, flagged off at Lugogo by National Council of Sports (NCS) Assistant General Secretary, David Katende, will start with the tour of Qatar, scheduled for 7th -13th February, before flying to India on 14th.
The Cricket Cranes’ Qatar Olympic Committee fully-funded tour of Qatar will see the team set off on 6th February, with a T20 match set to be played on 8th February.
The Qatar wing of tour series is part of Qatar’s National Sports Day celebrations.
The team, captained by Roger Mukasa & assisted by Brian Masaba, will later play two 50 over-test matches with another T20 game in-between, before ending their tour to the Gulf’s small nation with a T20 game on 13th February.
The team will then head to India for a series of One Day Internationals.
In the ICC World Cricket League Division Four, Uganda are set to play against 5 other Cricket-playing nations; Denmark, Bermuda, Jersey, Vanuatu & Malaysia (hosts) in a round-robin format in the 50 overs category.
The Uganda Cricket Cranes were relegated to Division Four in May last year after a shock disastrous performance at the Uganda-hosted ICC World Cricket League Division Three – they managed only two wins against Malaysia & Singapore, while losing to Canada, Oman & the United States of America.
Below is the team selected for the Tour of Qatar; Steven Wabwose & Emmanuel Isaneez set to join them for the Tour of India.
