- Women livelihood fund might not reach rural women – researchers
- Researchers accuse government of inadequate research on initiative
- State minister Peace Mutuuzo insists fund is on the right track
Researchers have expressed concerns that the recently unveiled Sh43billion women entrepreneurship fund might hit a dead end by not benefiting the rural women.
These argue that government has not done enough research on the initiative and the women have not been given enough training.
State minister for Gender and culture, Peace Mutuuzo however insists that the women venture is on the right track since and mistakes from the youth livelihood fund will not be repeated.
The concern was raised during the launch of the 1million dollar research project for supporting business opportunities for rural women in East and Southern Africa.
