- Civil Aviation Authority tasked speed up certification of airport
- National carrier suspended due to failure to meet safety rules
- Uganda only meets 61% of the required standards
The Association of African Aviation Association has tasked Uganda to speed up the certification of the airport to meet international standards.
According to the president of the association Tchagbele Sadamba Uganda currently meets only 61% of the required standards making her less competitive in Africa and the region.
The caution comes in the wake of Uganda Airline’s final preparations to have the national carrier brought back into operation after it was suspended two years ago for failure to meet aviation rules on safety.
