- Kiiza Besigye appears in Nakawa court for mention in treason trial
- State says investigations are in advanced stage, asks for more time
- Besigye decries continued adjournments as waste of his time
Former Forum for Democratic Change presidential candidate Kiiza Besigye has this morning appeared before Nakawa chief magistrate Lilian Bukyana for mention of his treason case.
State prosecutor Deborah Etau has told court that investigations are in the advanced stage and asked court for more time to conclude them.
Besigye is facing a number of counts of treason after a video of him swearing in as the President Elect was released on social media earlier this year. The trial has been adjourned to 16th November.
