The constitutional court has set 12th April 2017 as the day it will give a ruling on the election petition against Nakifuma county member of parliament Robert Kafeero Ssekitoleko.
A one Lamech Kawombe filed a petition challenging the election of NRM’s Robert Kafeero Ssekitoleko as Nakifuma county Member of Parliament.
Kawombe contends that Ssekitoleko did not sit for the Uganda Certificate of Education examinations but stopped in senior three and thus has no required minimum academic qualifications to hold a legislative position.
The petition was presided over by justices Steven Kavuma, Elizabeth Musoke and Owinyi Doro.
The complainant is represented by Lawyer Ambrose Tebyasa while Robert Kafeero Ssekitoleko is represented by lawyer Musa Ssekaana.
Lamech’s earlier petition in Jinja high court was dismissed by Justice Benjamin Kabiito on grounds that the petition was wrongly filed.
