The judiciary in Uganda has for long grappled with case backlogs, resulting from the inadequate number of judicial staff, poor work attitudes and performance of judicial officers, which negatively affecting its efficiency and effectiveness in delivering justice.
Today, however, a robust Information and Communications Technology (ICT) strategy has been launched and e-justice is expected to be operational within the next three years.
According to the Chief Justice, Bart Katureebe, it is high time the judiciary embraced E-Justice to ensure efficiency and effectiveness. Here is more.
