Land experts are concerned at the increase of land grabbing cases currently at 59% despite the implementation of the National Land Policy and the Land Act 1998.

According to the CEDO Executive Director Byabasaija Abdullah, the rampant commercialization of land by government has forced land owners out without compensation.

But the new Minister for Lands Housing and Urban Development has promised to conclusively deal with the issue.
