- Kasese to host national disaster reduction day celebrations
- Kasese District is recent victim of recurrent floods and mudslides
- International day of disaster reduction is marked every October 13
Uganda will tomorrow mark international day of disaster reduction held annually on 13th October.
The national celebrations will be held in Karusandara Sub County, Kasese District under the theme “Live to tell, raise awareness and reduce mortality.”
The Assistant Commissioner for Disaster Preparedness and Reduction in the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM), Rose Kabugo says Kasese has been selected to host the national celebrations because it recently a victim of recurrent disasters including floods and mud-slides.
She adds that the day is aimed at mobilising further support towards recovery from stakeholders.
